Add structured data so AI can cite you.

Use schema.org markup and clean canonical URLs so AI tools surface and quote your work.

Why this matters

Search engines and AI assistants rely on structured data to know what a page is about: is this a product, an article, an organization, an event? Marked-up pages get cited and quoted more often. Unmarked pages get ignored or summarized incorrectly.

What to do

  • Add JSON-LD blocks to your key pages.
  • At minimum: an Organization schema on your homepage, Article schema on blog posts, Product schema on offerings, and FAQPage on support pages.
  • Use canonical URLs so duplicate paths don't fragment your authority.
  • Validate with Google's Rich Results Test before shipping.

Common pitfalls

  • Mismatched structured data (schema that claims one thing while the visible page shows another) gets you penalized.
  • Don't mark up content that isn't actually on the page.
  • Keep schema versions current; Schema.org evolves.
